Paradoxically the Yankees improved their chances by NOT winning the Eastern Division. They are still underdogs BUT have a better chance against Cleveland than against the Angels and a better chance with the short format than the long. Angels have the Yankees number and there was simply little chance of beating them at home. Cleveland has two dynamite pitchers but the Yankees have shown an ability to hit one of them. And the short format means both temas have to use four starters over a five game set so the two Cleveland big guns can only pitch three games instead of four. Yankee #3-4 starters are suspect but so are Cleveland's. If the Yankees can get out of Cleveland 1-1 their odds go up to 50-50. IMO.Labels: On to Cleveland
